Fundamentally I feel the best way to rate games is by taking what the developers have accomplished and comparing it to what they wanted to accomplish.

This allows for liberties in creative freedom and preferences. However, I should note, if the game developer intended to create crap and accomplished it this would not be considered a good rating. Or rather it would be considered a good version of crap. The concept of a bad game being made badly will be taken into consideration (the Burger King games come to mind).

I think four tiers sum it up best:

1) Buy this game.

2) Rent this game.

3) Play this game at a friend’s house.

4) Avoid this game.

Definitions of ratings:

• Buy this game alludes that the game is wonderful, don’t go taking a mortgage out on your house however. If I rate a game in this manner if means that I literally intend to buy it, if you feel you relate to my reviews be confident that if I was wrong you will at least suffer with me.
• Rent this game means simply that the game has good experiences, but not good enough to share with your friends or family. As well it is not something you would wish to come back to later for memories sake.
• If its a play this game at a friend’s house rating this usually means the game has interesting premises but doesn’t follow through with the overall picture. Of course I don’t recommend you convince your friend to buy the game just so you can play it.
• Avoid this game is the most clear. It’s simply a waste of time by my standards, don’t play it if you have similar tastes. Some games are good because there bad, others are just bad. Stay away!

After the conclusion of each review I will as well list one thing I loved about the game, one thing I detested about the game, a system comparison if possible, and a little tidbit of bonus game information.Things to take into consideration about ratings:

• If I mention a game is great in a certain genre and you should buy it, realize that it is good in light of the genre. As so if you dislike that genre it would be wise to place the rating lower then I have mentioned rent it instead.
• I sincerely tell you what I value, take this into consideration. I am different from you, if you feel like your perspective has not been addressed feel free to message me so I can attempt to address it.
