An Intellectual Gamer
How does a basic introduction sound?

My name is Nathan Hunt and I am a 25 year old gaming and philosophizing martial artist residing in Calgary, AB Canada. As you can most likely deduce from my short description I’m a philosophy student, a martial artist, and, as is most relevant to this blog, an avid game.
I believe that gaming is growing with gamers, we’ve reached a place in our society in which the old school basement dwellers are now the new age income developers. In such a world the simple platform jumpers of the past have no place, except perhaps for our children. This is a bold statement as I’m sure many gamers would disagree with me. In the hopes that I don’t get my head bitten off, allow me to elaborate.
When I say simple platform jumpers are of the past excluding children I do not mean to insult the genre. This is not a simple statement of my own personal taste, but rather a statement of what I believe should be of the adult gamers own volition.
Simple games for simple minds. Mario was fine for our youth but unless it now develops something in us, do we really have a good reason for playing it? You should always make sure to play a game that gives you something more then pleasure, if not you’re simply pigging out at the buffet.
‘Gaming grows with us’ is my motto and I believe it. Adults should play adult oriented games. Of course this is not a category all on its own, and different adults will have different tastes which will allocate what to them should be considered an adult game. The important thing is that you’re learning something, and as such you’re growing.
This however has digresses from about me to about my philosophy, but really what is there other then what we believe?
If you’d like to play with me please feel free to add my gamer tag on 360 listed below:
Be Happy!

Funny to see my comment on your blog. I see you have the Shenmue series on your top 10. Good call amigo, definitely one of my favorites.
Shenmue is amazing, although ahead of its time.
